Flat 360° Photos
Before being able to rotate such images in 360 degree, these images are first of all ‘flats images’.
Note: native computers and devices aren’t built to rotate 360º images.
Tiny Planets
Sometimes we can see “tiny planets” (also called mini planets) on the Internet, and those images are created from 360° photographs.
Technically speaking, this result is created by using a “stereographic projection” on 360° photos, allowing professional photographers to turn them in such ways!
few clarifications
A 3D photo is not a 360° photo. Simply said it's a wrong wording.
A 360° panorama is not considered as a 360° photo. A panorama means that its zenith and nadir (the highest and lowest parts) are missing.
A 360° photo can also be called a VR photo, photo sphere, and spherical photo.
